The bustling metropolitan area teems with shopping malls, cinemas, museums, galleries, and restaurants, catering to a wide range of tastes and interests. In Makindye, guests can enjoy a variety of water activities at Lake Victoria, as well as horseback riding and birdwatching along the lake’s banks. The Rubaga district, the former capital of the ancient kings of Buganda, is rich with history. It features the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and many colonial-era structures such as the Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedrals.

For intellectual and spiritual experiences, the Kawempe district offers attractions like Makerere University, Shree Sanatan Dharma Mandal Hindu Temple, the Uganda National Mosque, and the Baha’i Temple. Food enthusiasts will enjoy the Nakawa district’s Port Bell Pier, which hosts a collection of fantastic restaurants and serves as the primary harbor for passenger liners and cargo carriers on Lake Victoria. Additionally, guests can explore Uganda’s incredible wildlife at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center and the Serenada Eco-Tourism Site.
