Day 1: Journey to Kibale National Park – Tour Fort Portal
At dawn, your adventure starts with coming to meet you at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. While on this road trip, expect to see this area’s breathtaking views that include the vastest farms, forests and rivers. When you get to Fort Portal which is known for its scenic beauty and cool temperatures, you will have lunch then go for a quick tour of the town. As the center for tourism in Uganda and seat of Toro Kingdom; Fort Portal provides one good point from which tourist safaris can have an adventure in a variety of wildlife destinations available within Ugandan national parks.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Plus Bigodi Swamp Walk
After breakfast it is time for a briefing session about chimpanzee tracking at Kibale national park before embarking on trekking through dense jungles filled with different species including baboons, vervet monkeys among many other creatures; this area house thousands upon thousands of these friendly monkeys hence earns itself the nickname “primate’s capital of the world” owing to its rich punctuation of 13 different non-human primate forms. From there onwards you will head towards morning birds watching tour and afternoon bigodi wetland sanctuary visit where various forms of wildlife thrive amidst richly endowed hindsight vegetation terrains.
Day 3: Game Drive at Ishasha, Tour Kyambura Gorge
You can travel by car to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha which is noted for its tree climbing lions. These lions are not very common and they are perceived to climb trees so as to evade insects and be able to view their prey better. The Kyambura gorge whose nature walk is captivating with a lexicon of trees, butterflies songs… etc will be visited after lunch.
Day 4 : Second Game Drive And Boat Cruise At The Kazinga Channel
The Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park will serve as the starting point for an early morning game drive where nocturnal animals like lions etc., can be spotted together with other early birds among them leopards and different bird species in that area. In the later part of this day, there will be a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel -one of the greatest birdwatchers’ spots around Africa -, which will provide viewers with views of water animals such as hippos, elephants and water buffalos alongside various kinds of flying creatures too!!
Day 5: Visit Maramagambo Forest – Salt Mining in Lake Katwe
Transfer to Bwindi National Park In quietude, you shall savor first this tranquility over the crystal waters of Lake Katwe. You will observe the locals undertaking traditional forms of salt mining here. Moving further eastwards into Maramagambo Forest – you are likely to come across pythons that scourge through bat caves looking for prey. Several other wild creatures including monkeys and birds may also be found around here. Finally heading towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where we will reach during late afternoon hours.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest – Visit to the Batwa Pygmies
Morning attention begins with gorilla trekking instructions given at Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, having almost half of all mountain gorillas globally inhabiting its landmass. Although moving within this dense rainforest may take anywhere from two to six hours’ time definitely speaking; it’s worth spending just sixty minutes with an individual gorilla as he/she could be your last chance ever seeing such a creature on earth. In the afternoon you will go visit Batwa pygmies’ community where you will hear stories about them and also see their dance performances during which they sing along their respective traditional songs.
Day 7: Go back to Kampala for your departure.
On your last day, you will have a relaxed breakfast before continuing your journey back to Kampala. On the way, you will find Igongo Cultural Centre where you can have lunch and take photos of the equator crossing. If there is enough time left you may also visit Buganda Royal drum makers in order to know how these instruments are made traditionally. The safari ends at either a hotel or the airport in Entebbe after dropping you off.
