Day 1: Arrival and Hotel Transfer

Arrival: Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our experienced birding guide. They will provide an overview of your upcoming adventure before transferring you to your hotel in Entebbe for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Birding in UWEC and Entebbe Botanical Garden

After an early breakfast, embark on a birding excursion starting at UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Center). Here, you’ll have the chance to observe a variety of bird species including Weaver birds, raptors like the African Fish Eagle, flycatchers, and more. Proceed to the serene Entebbe Botanical Garden for further birding amidst lush greenery and diverse habitats.

Day 3: Heritage Trail Birding

Heritage Trail: Depart after breakfast for a full day of birding along the Heritage Trail. This trail offers diverse bird species such as the Black Cuckoo Shrike, Mustached Warbler, Yellow-billed, Great Sparrow Hawk, and Cuckoo Shrike. Enjoy lunch at the beach followed by a scenic boat cruise to spot water-associated birds like the Papyrus Canary and Papyrus Gonolek. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Birding in Mabamba Swamp and Transfer to Kampala

Mabamba Swamp Birding and Transfer to Kampala: Begin the day with breakfast, then check out with packed lunch. Meet your birding guide for a visit to Mabamba Swamp, renowned for the elusive Shoebill stork and various water birds. Explore the swamp on a canoe ride, spotting Goliath Herons, Plovers, Pygmy Geese, African Jacana, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst nature before driving back to Kampala for overnight stay.

Day 5: Birding Safari in Mabira National Forest Reserve

Birding in Mabira: After breakfast, depart for Mabira National Forest Reserve, a haven for diverse bird species including Greenbuls, Woodpeckers, Barbets, Tinkerbirds, Kingfishers, Weaver birds, Starlings, and more. Spend the morning exploring this lush forest environment before returning to Kampala/Entebbe for departure.
