Day 1: Pickup and transport to Kibale National Park at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary where there is nature walk
Your safari starts in the morning when you are picked by a driver from Mission Africa Safaris from the airport for a beautiful 4-hour drive to Kibale National Park. The first stop over Lunch will be at Fort Portal town via Mubende. Fort Portal is known for its gorgeous scenery that range from ‘Amabere ga nyina mwiru’ caves, King’s palace, royal tombs in Karambi. Watch out for crater lakes besides Rwenzori real mountains as you head towards this park because they look beautiful. You will take a walk with your guide through Bigodi swamp which is quite fascinating for both birds’ lovers and primates observers; swamp antelope , bushbucks , mongooses as well as otters can all be found there.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking (or Chimpanzee Habituation Experience), Primate Walk in Kanyanchu, and Birding Excursion
Get up early in the morning and eat a Hearty breakfast ready for a busy day ahead. The main event is a chimpanzee tracking on Kanyanchu primate walk where one can meet the thirteen species of Kibale’s Primates living in thick rainforests alongside beautiful butterflies flying around them everywhere before anyone completes it. Following park office briefing start an enjoying trek to find chimpanzee communities; Easier to find Kibale’s chimps, Here they are less shy than bush babies and their relatives who live up in the trees while during day-time these funny looking groups remain hidden among branches waiting for darkness to come back down from above.
Day 3: Journey to the Community-Transfer to Entebbe or Kampala.
Lay back and take breakfast when you want before walking around the village so as to know the local way of life. Meet with locals from this area, visit places of significance in their villages and taste some local dishes while learning more about Uganda’s culture full of history. After touring the village, start your return trip towards Kampala or Entebbe hence witnessing some extraordinary sights along Fort Portal and its nearby regions. On your way there, lunch will be served giving you a last chance to eat Uganda’s delicious dishes before it is time to say goodbye during your amazing safari trip. This marks an end of 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Safari.
