Day 1: Kigali Akagera National Park

From your hotel in Kigali, you will be picked up by your driver |guide and taken to Akagera National Park located along the eastern border of Rwanda, where the typically hilly countryside gives way to the savannas of the Great Rift Valley. Regrettably, it is an area that has been largely taken over by lakes, swamps and marshes; thus these nature and wildlife features cannot be found anywhere else within the country.

We are expected to arrive before lunchtime at the splendid Akagera Game Lodge. Have lunch then start with a game drive visiting giraffe valley. Akagera NP allows you not only to visit this beautiful National Park but also stay back and enjoy its camp that possesses astonishing views across Lake Ihema. Later dinner and overnight at our campsite.

Day 2: Morning Boat Ride, Afternoon Game drive and transfer back to Kigali

After an early breakfast we shall start exploring Lake Ihema on board boats which is very rewarding for seeing numerous hippopotamus, massive Nile crocodiles while birdlife is also abundant here making it interesting especially for bird lovers out there.

You will break for your picnic lunch then later return to the giraffe valley whose afternoon game drive often throws up surprises before continuing our route towards Kigali where we’ll arrive late evening for drop-off at Kigali Hotel.
